Prior to establishing his intellectual property law practice, Richard was the Director of Patent Marketing & Management for The Boeing Company.  In this capacity, Richard worked with teams of technical and legal personnel to develop, protect and monetize Boeing's patent portfolio.  

Richard sharpened his technical skills in a number of engineering roles for The Boeing Company, including his positions as Chief Engineer of the International Space Station program, the Future Combat Systems program, and the Joint Tactical Radio System - a program to develop the next generation of software-defined communication systems.

Richard holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Illinois, a Master of Business Administration degree from Pepperdine University, and a Juris Doctor degree from Whittier Law School.  Richard also acheived his Certificate in Intellectual Property from Whittier Law School.  Richard is a member of the California Bar Association, and a registered Patent Attorney authorized to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
